Best known for their wealth and abundance of oil, the Gulf States are also housing some remarkable museums that display magnificent ancient Islamic art, calligraphy, pottery, embroideries and jewelry. This unique tour will visit Bahrain, an archipelago located in the heart of the Gulf that boasts a unique blend of ancient and modern; a destination where glistening skyscrapers share the skyline with majestic, centuries-old mosques. Aside from exploring the traditional markets and abundant attractions of the tiny Kingdom of Bahrain, you will visit Qatar, where you saunter around the Old Souk (market), through the maze of alleyways and down to the nearby Dhow Harbor to see some of the Gulf's traditional and distinctive trading vessels and the world-class Islamic Arts Museum. In the UAE, you will marvel at Abu Dhabi's unique architecture, which is an intriguing interpretation of Islamic designs crafted in modern materials, as well as one of the most futuristic cities in the world. When in Dubai, an emirate that transformed itself in the last few decades from an obscure pearl-fishing village into one of the worlds’ most important trade hubs and a land of luxuries, you will also visit the Old town as well as the nearby Emirates of Sharjah and Al Ain, two places boosting world class historical buildings and ruins.

Saturday, Feb 09
Arrival to Manama (Bahrain)

Upon arrival meet your guide and driver and begin your day with the tour of the Old Palace and the Guest Palace in the Gudaibiya area of Manama. We then proceed to the island of Muharraq to visit Shaikh Isa House, a fine example of 19th-century Arabian residence. Next is the nearby Arad Fort which was built in the 15th century in typical period style. It was occupied by the Portuguese for 100 years and is also referred to as the Portuguese Fort. Then get ready to savor the finest Arabic sweets and pastries at a typical Arabic confectionery. After a break for lunch, visit Bahrain Fort and Museum before the tour concludes with a visit to the House of Qur'an where you will see rare and precious collections of ancient Quranic manuscripts as well as Islamic works of art. Return to your hotel for overnight. (B)

Sunday, Feb 10
Manama

Start your day heading to Al Fateh Grand Mosque, the island’s largest and a magnificent piece of architecture then visit to Saar where a 3900 BC town is being excavated. We then proceed to AI Jasra Handicraft Centre where we meet locals displaying their craft. We then go past Al Jasra House which is the birthplace of the Amir, and stop at the Al Jasra Handicraft Center near the 25-km breathtaking Causeway linking Bahrain to Saudi Arabia. We also pass a 5,000 year old burial mound. Return to your hotel for overnight. (B)

Monday, Feb 11
Manama (Bahrain) – Kuwait (Kuwait) -Doha (Qatar)

You will be picked up from the hotel for your transfer to the airport for your connecting flight to Qatar (Doha), upon arrival meet and transfer to Souq Waqif hotel (or similar). Free evening at leisure and overnight at your hotel. (B)

Tuesday, Feb 12
Doha

Begin your day with a full tour visiting Katara Cultural Village, then the Equestrian Club to view some of the most beautiful pure-bred Arab horse, then head to the shopping mall for short guided tour and then free time for own exploration and shopping. Enjoy a delicious lunch as well. Then head to visit the Museum of Islamic Art, one of the Gulf region's newest and most fabulous museums followed by a tour around Souq Waqif and the Falcon Shops, the most traditional of souks; it first started as a weekend market for local Bedouins, selling meat, wool, milk and other staples. Today, this maze of alleyways covers a large area with separate sections selling traditional clothing, perfumes, spices/incense & dried fruit. Back to your hotel. (B,L)

Wednesday, Feb 13
Doha

Our day will start with a visit to the Al Zubarah Archeological site. The walled coastal town of Al Zubarah in the Gulf flourished as pearling and trading center in the late 18’Th centuries. We will also visit Al-Shahaniya, a camel racing track, the Sheikh Faisal Museum and Barzan Tower. (B,L)

Thursday, Feb 14
Doha (Qatar) to Kuwait City (Kuwait)

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Kuwait and upon arrival start your day tour of Kuwait, visiting Bait Al-Othman historic museum in Kuwait, inaugurated by the Amir of Kuwait in April 2013, the Museum is dedicated to the history and culture of Kuwait from the pre-oil era to present time. Continue passing by the National Assembly (parliament House), then Pass by the Seif Palace (Amir’s Office), photo stop of the Grand Mosque, Banking Street, to reach the Traditional Souk of Kuwait, afterwards head to reach the Dhow Harbor and the Fish Market for great photo opportunities. Drive back to the Kuwait Towers and ascend to 120 meters in the viewing sphere to get a picturesque view of the city & coastline before transferring to your hotel for overnight. (B,L)

Friday, Feb 15
Kuwait City (Kuwait) – Abu Dhabi- Al Ain – Abu Dhabi (UAE)

Morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Abu Dhabi. Upon arrival meet your guide and start driving to Al Ain which is the Garden City of the UAE, and one of the oldest settlements. A green city with an incredible number of public parks, it is also the birthplace of H.H. Sheikh Zayed, the Former President of the UAE. It has also a famous university city. Our tour includes visits to the most important museum in the UAE which houses artifacts of ancient times that have been discovered in and around the city, ancient Arabic manuscripts and royal treasures. Also included is a stop at the traditional camel market, a great chance to have a close up look at these “ships of desert”. Later visit the nearby oasis village of Buraimi. The village boasts old forts, date palm groves and 2000 year old irrigation systems called Falaj, which are still in use. Last stop on our tour are the Hili gardens, the excavation site of a tomb dating back 3000 B.C. and other archaeological discoveries. Overnight in the hotel. (B)

Abu Dhabi- Dubai

After breakfast proceed to Abu Dhabi City Tour. This tour will allow you to visit a selection of carefully-chosen highlights of the UAE’s lovely capital. We will visit Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Heritage village, Qasr Al Hosn Fort, dates market and the Louvre Museum. From its remarkable buildings featuring some of the most stunning architecture to be found anywhere and glimpses into the past, you will be able to sample Abu Dhabi’s unique blend of culture and traditional way of living at the Heritage Village. Enter a world where Islamic designs and elements feature on modern architecture, blending the New with ancient traditions of the East and the West, in a city where the glorious greens of its garden view with the blues of the sea and sky. Continue to your hotel in Dubai for overnight. (B,L)

Dubai

Morning at leisure to either explore the famous malls, or the old souks for shopping and after lunch time explore the city of Gold!! Our tour takes us first for a photo stop of the famous icon of the city, Burj Al Arab Hotel (Jumeirah Beach side). Continue driving for another photo stop of the magnificent Jumeirah mosque. Afterwards, we proceed to the oldest part of the city, Bastakia where old wind-towered houses of wealthy merchants are still to be seen. In the same area we visit Dubai Museum in the Al Fahidi Fort, which has survived for two centuries. We continue our tour through the cloth markets and end up at the Abras, local water taxis that will take us across the Creek to the area of spice and gold souks. Walk through the bustling alleys of these souks and allow the mystical aromas of numerous spices to tantalize your senses while the breath-taking amount of dazzling gold will dazzle your eyes. The jewelry on sale varies from the traditional to the latest designs at amazingly affordable prices. Last stop is in the Dubai Mall fountain for a photo stop only. Afterward, proceeds to Dubai Creek for the Dhow Cruise Dinner.A chance to see the modern skyline of Dubai from the Creek. Overnight in the hotel. (B,D)

Monday, Feb 18
Dubai-Sharjah-Ajman-Ummal Quwain-Ras Al Khaimah-Dubai

This tour gives you an opportunity to see both the emirates of Sharjah and Ajman. Ajman, located a short distance northeast of Sharjah's capital city is the smallest of the seven emirates. We visit Ajman's museum, housed in an ancient fort, served as the ruler's palace. We then drive back into Sharjah, with a photo halt at the cultural roundabout and thereafter proceed to the Al Majarrah Souq. Next halt to visit Bait Al Naboodah, the Al Naboodah family house, been converted into the heritage museum. We continue on to the Al Hisn Fort, the traditional residence of the ruling family of Sharjah. Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Qassimi. Visit the nearby Souq Al Arsah (Courtyard Souq) is one of the oldest popular souqs in the UAE. We then take a tour of the fish market to see the catch of the day. Continue to Central Market, well known as the Blue souq. Opposite the Souk stands the majestic King Faisal Mosque and the Pearl Monument, symbol of the UAE Federation. You will enjoy an amazing experience of viewing the stunning sea and sand scenery along with views of markets, museum, stunning coastline and other iconic landmarks. You will also be offered whimsical photographic prospects during the Umm Al Quwain & Ras Al Khaimah Tour so that you can capture the captivating moments in your cameras. Overnight in the hotel. Tuesday, Feb 01
Dubai-Fujairah - Dubai

A full day to see the natural variety of landscapes the UAE has to offer. Depart Dubai City to the lush green agricultural area of Dhaid and then on to the Hajar mountains, which offer a beautiful natural backdrop. A stop at a local market with examples of locally made pottery, fruits and carpets are on offer. A drive through the scenic mountains and Wadis (dried out river seasonal river beds) take us past Masafi (home to famous natural springs) to the Indian Ocean. In Dibba visit a local fish market with its abundant and colorful catch. Driving along the coast through small fishing villages, we arrive at Bidaya mosque, the oldest one in the UAE. Then on to Khor Fakkan, a regional hot spot for diving and snorkeling, where there will be an opportunity to relax at the beach and have a refreshing swim. In Fujairah, we visit the Fort, which was built in the 17th century. On the way back to Dubai, a chance for a stop at the oasis of Bithnah and time to spend at the Friday market in Massafi which is open through the week. Overnight in the hotel. (B,D)
