Israel & Jordan (Lands of the Bible)

October 06 to 20, 2018

Along the banks of the River Jordan, three great religions flourished. At this pivotal crossing between east and west, the Nabateans built the “Hidden City” of Petra. Undiscovered for centuries its secrets are at last being explored. Here too the Romans built Jerash (ancient Gerasa), fabled city of the Decapolis. Jordan is a monarchy with democratic values that stands as a pillar against religious governance. Israel, the name alone stirs the soul. Visit Nazareth, the birthplace of Jesus, Jerusalem site of the Temple Mount and the Dome of the Rock, the Western Wall of King Solomon’s Temple and the stunning Israel Museum. Explore Megiddo the biblical Armageddon, the Via Dolorosa and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Walk through history as you tour Caesarea, Gethsemane and Safed. Experience the thrill of discovery in the caves at Qumran. Ascend Masada to hear the story of “freedom” as written by the Roman scholar Josephus.
